Casual Disability Support Worker

$35 - $63 p.h. + Super
We are currently seeking a female support worker who for around 12h per week support in a Casual basis.

Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Female Support Workers to provide high-quality care and support to our participants in the northern suburbs of Brisbane - Queensland. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals with disabilities lead independent and meaningful lives.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Support Worker you will:
Be respectful and communicate well with family members of those who you work with as you will be working in the participant’s family homes.
Be able to think on your feet and be able to adapt to different situations and participants.
Support the people we care for to grow their skills basis and abilities to perform tasks to help live a meaningful and good life.
Support to develop and maintain independence and safety. This may be through personal care and hygiene, health and wellbeing, meal preparation, shopping and household chores, mobility and transportation or supporting them to access the community and activities
Provide emotional and social support to individuals
Assist individuals in developing and achieving their goals
Monitor and document progress of individuals
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Please note that you may be required to work morning and afternoon depending what will be required of the participant which will include some weekend and public holiday shifts too.
Criteria:
Physically fit and active
The ability to develop a positive relationship with the participant
Able to work in a fast paced environment
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Working with Children's Check
Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
First Aid and CPR
Police Check
NDIS ‘New Worker Induction Module’
Cert III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability (or equivalent) is desirable
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
Have driver’s license and own car with comprehensive car insurance
